Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown 2011

The BHP Insurance Champion Hurdle will be run this Sunday at Leopardstown in Ireland. A small select field will go to post with Hurricane Fly (pictured) a very warm favourite to add to his Grade 1 successes this season. He has put Solwhit in his place already this season and might have most to fear from Peddlers Cross on this occasion.  Jockey Paul Townend gets on very well with Hurricane Fly who has shown he stays 20 furlongs, acts on any going and has a turn of foot at the end of a race. I am sure once Ruby Walsh is fit to ride he will be champing at the bit to get aboard Hurricane Fly who could be the one to beat Binocular and Menorah at Cheltenham in March.
